Industrial Wedding | Best Photographer in Cleveland
We met Lisa and Russ at their work just outside Cleveland in Avon, Ohio. They told us they had been looking for a wedding photographer for quite sometime and had some special requests. One request was not to have a traditional wedding. So instead they were getting married in an old screw factory in Lakewood, OH. The other was their puppies were going to be the ring bearers. We instantly knew they were the perfect fit! Also, my wife and I were born and raised in Cleveland. So we’re always excited when we get to go back home!
We had found a really cool place called Schoepfle Gardens in Wakeman, Ohio for their engagement photos. We planned a trip around Christmas so we were extremely excited to get some wintery looking photos. However, when we arrived it was 70 degrees and sunny so t-shirts and jeans it was… The best part about the photoshoot was they brought their pups along for the photoshoot to meet us. One dressed as R2-D2 and the other as BB-8. Star Wars robots for those that don’t follow 🙂 Click the link to check out those photos Russ + Lisa small town engagement
We started the day with the soon to be Mrs while she got ready. After they finished hair and makeup, we loaded up and headed out to a nearby train station for their first look. I think I’ve mentioned this a few times before but I love shooting in different locations 😉 There was an awesome all glass walkway that went over the train tracks so we were able to watch her coming to see her soon to be husband. We let him know when she was crossing and watched him start to fidget as his bride approached.
While it’s not necessary we always encourage our brides and grooms to do a first look. If you’re considering it, do it! It’s such an intimate moment for the two of you and it helps to get rid of the jitters before walking down the aisle. You also won’t have to worry about Uncle Bob popping out in the aisle to get his cell phone shot at the reception.
We did half of their bridal photos at the train station and then let the bridal party head to the venue to welcome the arriving guests. After the train station we went to a small alley down the street that the bride was absolutely in love with. I wasn’t too sure about the location (a tiny dark alley) until we arrived and I immediately fell in love as well! The brick houses and the overgrown ivy reminded me of somewhere in England.
While the previous spots were awesome I think my favorite place was the wedding venue. The large glass windows allowed so much light to pour in. Giving it a natural light and airy feel. They decorated with vintage cameras, books and metal fixtures to match the industrial look and feel. Are you in the market for a photographer? Don’t hesitate to contact us 🙂 Hope you enjoy the photos!
