We took Dalisa and Kamal’s engagement photos out in the country the previous spring to the wedding. You can see those photos in the link here, engagement .
The day of the wedding the bride and groom got ready in rooms at the Park Villa Apartments near Cleveland, Ohio. It was a brisk November day and cloudy but thankfully, the rain had held off all day. While the girls got ready we got some portraits of the men, the father of the bride wore his dress blues. Once the men were on their way to the church for the ceremony we got some portraits of the bridesmaids.
The ceremony was held at Anticoch Baptist Church. It was traditional and the father and mother of the bride read a poem. The couple poured sand into a vase after the grooms aunt and the mothers. At the end of the ceremony they opted for a tradition of jumping over a broom stick and then they danced down the aisle.
With little time to spare for photos because of the sun setting so early in the time of year we had to opt out of the couples wedding portraits. Instead the couple and bridal party took a bus 40 minutes away to visit the mother of the groom in the nursing home. To say it was emotional and heartwarming would be an understatement. They headed back to the party bus to attend the reception at the Ballroom at Park Lane back in Cleveland.
Back at the venue guests enjoyed Hors d’oeuvre. When they arrived back they danced in for their entrances, gave speeches and did their first dance. The groom danced with his aunt as his mother was in the nursing home. Dalisa changed into a jumpsuit and they danced all night including a train that including most of the guests!
